AFT, a Japanese foreign exchange (forex) broker, made a surprise announcement this Friday, by revealing that it will stop supporting the Trade Link platform as of Friday the 19th of April, 2019 at 15:00.
The Trade Link system allows investors to directly place a buy or sell offer into an (ECN) trading environment. As of today, the broker will stop allowing new accounts to be opened on the platform.
The platform is also connected to its MetaTrader 4 platform, as client transactions performed on the MT4 platform can also be reflected on the Trade Link service.
AFT has not given any indication as to why it will be terminating the service of the Trade Link platform. Instead, the company just apologised for any inconvenience it has caused its customers. In the past, the broker has had connection issues with the service, however, whether this has anything to do with today’s announcement is purely speculation.
From the 8th of April, AFT will prohibit its clients from opening new positions and advises its clients to settle all existing positions by 15:00 on the 15th of April, 2019, which is the final day traders can make any transactions on the platform.
AFT Clients Have Until April 30th
For any transactions that have not been settled by this time, the broker will make a forced settlement with the customer’s account, the statement from the company said. Furthermore, the Japanese firm will “remit the margin after payment completion to your registered financial institution by Friday, April 19, 2019”. All services related to the platform will cease on the 30th of April this year.
“After April 30, 2019, you will not be able to log in to “Trade Link”. Please save the account history report, the balance statement, etc. necessary for tax filing by April 30, 2019. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the termination of the “Trade Link” service,” the statement released today said.
