Liquidity provider announced two appointments to its Paris office this Thursday.
Geoffrey Damien has been appointed as Managing Director and Head of France at the firm and Serge Harry has joined as Chairman of XTX Markets SAS.
“With his deep knowledge of products and market structure, Geoffrey will be spearheading our continued push in Continental Europe,” said XTX Co-CEO Zar Amrolia.
Damien joins the liquidity provider from Euronext where he was Head of Product Development and Projects, as well as Head of Retail Execution.
The new Head of France for XTX spent almost a decade at the exchange. He got his start as a Market Operations Officer in 2009, became a Product Manager in late 2014 and took up his most recent role in July of last year.
Prior to joining the exchange operator, he spent time as a broker at ProCapital and as a trading risk analyst at EDF.
Experienced hands
Serge Harry, XTX’s new Chairman, has had an array of experience in the financial services industry.
He spent almost twenty years as the General Secretary of Sicovam – Frances central security depository.
Following that, the new chairman also spent nine years with Euronext, working as the exchange operator’s Chief Financial Officer and as the New York Stock Exchange’s Head of Strategy.
In the past five years, Harry has worked as an advisor to the London Stock Exchange, as the Chairman of securities trading firm MTS France and as a non-executive director for LCH.Clearnet.
“We are also delighted to welcome someone of Serge’s experience to XTX,” continued Amrolia. “He has held many senior positions across his distinguished career and we are delighted to have someone with his risk management, finance and markets experience at the company.”
