Nomura, , has appointed forex veteran, Rahul Darbari, as its head of Asia foreign exchange options. The new position has seen Darbari relocate back to Singapore.
According to a report from FX Week, Darbari will report to Nagaraj Pangal and Asa Atwell, the global co-heads of FX options at Nomura. Darbari was most recently located in New Zealand but has previously been based in Singapore earlier in his career.
He joins the Nomura from PR Square Investment, an investment firm based in Auckland. Here he was the co-founder and director of the company, which trades equities, forex and commercial real estate. According to his LinkedIn, he worked with the firm from September 2016 until August of this year.

Prior to working at ANZ, between 2007 until June 2012 Darbari worked at Standard Chartered Bank as the Global Head of FX Options. In the first two to three years whilst working for the firm, he was running exotics and emerging markets in Asia.
During his career, Darbari has also been a forex emerging options and exotics trader at , a Senior Dealer at Bank Muscat and a manager at ICICI Bank. Darbari was also the President of the IIT Alumni Association Singapore for one year between 2015 until 2016.
Between 1995 until 1995, Darbari studied at the Indian Institute of Technology. Here he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering. He then went on to achieve his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
