An executive move took place at Invast Global this Thursday. Nick Briscoe, formerly the Head of Prime Services, has been to promoted to Managing Director. Briscoe is now acting as Global Head of Prime services for the firm.
According to Briscoe’s LinkedIn account, he joined Invast Global in June of 2015. This was just before the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO),, took up his role at the prime brokerage firm.
Finance Magnates shortly after he was appointed as CEO of Invast Global. At the time, the prime broker’s CEO told us that the firm was getting a lot of attention from UK and US-based clients and it seems probable Briscoe has spent a significant proportion of his career bolstering that business.
Experienced hands
The new Managing Director joined Invast Global as a Director in the firm’s institutional sales team. He held this position for just under a year and a half.
After this, he was promoted to Head of Prime Services. As already noted, this was Briscoe’s most recent position, and it is one that he had held for almost two years. In this role, Briscoe appeared at the 2018 iFX Asia Expo. A video of his panel appearance, the subject of which was liquidity in Asia, can be seen below.
Prior to joining Invast Global, Briscoe worked at the now-defunct stockbroker and asset manager, BBY Ltd. Briscoe spent four years working as a client advisor at the Australian firm, which went under in 2015 after a botched acquisition.
Briscoe started out his career at Stonebridge Group, an Australian brokerage firm. He joined the company in April of 2011 but left just four months later in order to work at BBY.
Unlike his peers in the financial industry, most of whom have had similar educational experiences and career paths, Briscoe started his working life as a pilot. He gained a pilot’s license in the mid-2000s and even worked, for nearly five years, as a commercial pilot.
Well, it appears to be only onwards and upwards for Briscoe – a terrible play on words I know – and, if his past career history at Invast Global is anything to go by, we’ll likely hear more of him in the future.
