Sexual harassment allegations at the prime brokerage unit at Bank of America continue to resonate. The latest batch of news from the trading desks of the major US financial institution spells that two more employees have been let go from the company, according to a WSJ report.
Back in January, Bank of America parted ways with Omeed Malik, one of the senior executives at the company’s prime broking unit. Reports at the time indicated that his move has been tied with a sexual harassment allegation.
According to news reports at the time, he allegedly made unwanted sexual advances towards female co-workers. The news of two other employees being fired by the company after allegedly interfering with the investigation against Mr. Malik comes after they have been placed on leave.
According to a recent regulatory filing, Mr. Malik violated the ethical conduct consistent with the standards that are expected from Bank of America’s employees. A Financial Industry Regulatory Authority document stated that he attempted to manipulate the probe into his own behavior.
A spokesperson for Bank of America has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that the employees in question no longer work at the company.
