Los Angeles-based Wedbush Securities, a provider of private and institutional brokerage services in the US, has secured the services of William Barry and Steven Slovak as managing directors at its Fixed Income Financing, Futures and Rates division.
In their new positions, the two will help manage and develop Wedbush Securities’ business operations, emphasizing the group’s development and strategic direction for the futures, options, and fixed income spaces. They will also help establish and further develop relationships with institutions seeking customized, low-latency trading services.
The duo will be based out of New York and report to Scott Skyrm, the group’s Managing Director of Fixed Income Financing, Futures, and Rates.
Mr. Barry joins Wedbush Securities from Sage Trader where he served as Head of Global Business Development. Previously, he worked as the Managing Director of TFS Derivatives Corporation in New York and in global business development at Jefferies, having provided strategic direction for the online futures brokerage. Additional roles also include a 15-year stint at Penson Worldwide where he led its international business development.
Steve Slovak also brings extensive experience to Wedbush Securities, having held several senior positions with a few other Wall Street firms in the fixed income derivatives markets. He most recently served as Global Futures Business Development Manager at Sage Trader, and as Director of TFS Derivatives Corporation. Additionally, Steve worked at Jefferies, Inc., spent five years working in business development at Penson, and 12 years managing the international trade desk at Fimat USA, LLC.
Commenting on the new hires, Scott Skyrm said: “Having Bill and Steve onboard, positions Wedbush toward the future. Their extensive combined experience, in both buy and sell side, is the perfect formula to accelerate our growth with institutional clients.”
