In its latest bid to cater better to the community of developers of expert advisors and indicators for the MetaTrader suite, MetaQuotes has taken over a forum for developers. The company took over Forex-TSD earlier this year and has already integrated it into its own website.
The effort comes after in recent quarters MetaQuotes has been actively promoting its MetaTrader 5 platform. After marking increased by brokers, and encouraging the transition, the software developer recently committed to provide a platform for discussion among strategy developers with its latest take over deal.
The forum, which registers over 270K visitors per month according to SimilarWeb, is now redirecting to a forum section on www.mql5.com. In March, Forex-TSD informed its users about the move announcing it has been decided to terminate the forum activity as a standalone project.
The transfer did not affect the visitors and their experience, as MetaQuotes’ portal moved all forex-tsd.com topics and users ‘as neatly as possible’. The company is aiming to consolidate the two popular communities to provide a synergistic effect and benefit all traders as all necessary materials and discussions will be on the same page accessible via mql5.com.
The transition has been seamless with forex-tsd.com and mql5.com users to merged into single user accounts. The content and history of each account on the forex-tsd.com forum are preserved, whilst all converted users will continue to login to the mql5.com website using the same credential they used before.
Forex-TSD has established itself as one of the leading FX forums with a focus on automated and algorithmic trading. Additionally, the forum was a venue for traders to share and test strategies and discuss a host of topics dear to FX traders, such as trading systems, indicators, and brokers.
Targeted reach
MetaQuotes was actively looking for partnerships with players in the industry which can add value to its portfolio of websites. A key part of the Metatrader developer’s strategy is building a comprehensive online trading portal and acquisitions like Forex-TSD should allow to do that at a much faster pace.
The community of developers visiting forex-tsd.com is mainly focused on MetaTrader 4 and less so on MetaTrader 5. The new layout of the forum and the new home page address indicate that MetaQuotes is attempting to steer the development on to MQL5 and the latest version of the most popular retail FX trading platform.
