London listed gaming and financial industry giant Playtech has sealed a deal with one of the leading Greek gaming and lottery operators. The company that for $120 million in November last year has signed an agreement with OPAP to deliver self-service betting terminals.

Last year, Playtech acquired Austrian company Best Gaming Technology . The firm develops software for self-service betting terminals. The deal with the Greek operator is a direct result of the assets which Playtech acquired at the time.
The agreement with OPAP is for three years and includes the machines, relevant software and services and a follow up introduction of an Over-the-Counter (OTC) sports betting solution in 2018.
The Playtech BGT Sports unit, which includes the Austrian acquisition, will deliver recently-launched compact SSBTs throughout 2017, with the initial roll-out of the machines commencing in 2017.
The Chief Executive Officer of Playtech BGT Sports, Dr. Armin Sageder, said: “There are multiple opportunities to further develop our relationship as OPAP looks to enhance its digital retail offering and we believe today’s agreement marks the start of a long and successful relationship.”
