TMX Insights, a platform that provides financial content tools, applications, and analytics services, has teamed up with foreign exchange (FX) and equities specialist Velocity Trade, resulting in a symbiotic collaboration that sees the utilization of both groups’ solutions.
TMX Insights currently possesses a number of capabilities across its platform suite, boasting an equity-centric emphasis, including S&P/TSX indices, risk management tools, real-time options analytics, and TMX Analytics. The latter is instrumental to the new partnership with Velocity Trade, serving as a data analytics product designed to help clients make improved trading and investment decisions.
Symbiotic Relationship
Per the new collaboration, Velocity Trade will be providing TMX Insights with its pool of FX data, while TMX Insights will deliver its TMX Analytics tools to Velocity Trade’s international customer base. Both groups stand to benefit from the utilization of the other’s solutions capabilities, which will see gains in both the equities and FX space.
In addition, Velocity Trade’s customers will be granted broader access to Canadian, US and global data, helping empower its clients with better tools and resources.
According to Eric Sinclair, President, TMX Market Insights and Group Head of Information Services, TMX Group, in a recent statement on the partnership: “We are pleased to join forces with Velocity Trade as an important partner. Our TMX Insights team continues to explore and build dynamic solutions designed to address current market challenges and create competitive advantages for clients.”
“TMX’s alliance with Velocity Trade to deliver TMX Analytics to the client base of an established global trading services firm is a strong indication that we are on the right track,” he added.
“The TMX Analytics tools provide our clients with transparent and historical access to high quality FX and Equity insight on pricing comparatives. Through this alliance, clients can access unbiased tools to analyze the routing decisions made as it relates to their order flow, plus have the ability to measure the impact of the FX and Equity trading costs realized on cross border activities,” noted Simon Grayson, CEO of Velocity Trade, in an accompanying statement.
