Global Prime Partners Onoards Mike Ward to Head Business Development

Global Prime Partners (GPP), a provider of prime brokerage and trading services to hedge funds, asset managers and professional traders, has named Mike Ward to head new business development. The appointment comes within an influx of a series of senior level new blood at GPP as the company prepares to launch a Structured Product division during the first quarter of 2017.

In his new role, Mike will be initially tasked with expanding GPP’s offering within the structured products, a division that was formed to create tailored capital market products for UK onshore clients, as well as new bespoke investment structures.

Ward has over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Most recently, he was Co-Head of EMEA Equities at Nomura. Prior to that he spent eight years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was latterly Head of EMEA Equity Sales. His career also includes spells at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank.

Mike’s arrival, together with the recent hire of Matt Robinson joining as Head of Structured Product Sales and Ross Trotman as Head of Structuring, demonstrates Global Prime’s commitment to building its own franchise across derivatives-based structured securities and funds.

Announcing the appointment, Julian Parker, Chief Executive of GPP, said: “We have seen record growth this year and are well positioned to broaden our product lines and customer base. Structured products complement our existing Execution, Clearing, Custody and Prime Brokerage businesses and will leverage off our client service infrastructure. We are delighted that individuals of the calibre of Mike, Matt and Ross have been attracted to the exciting opportunities offered at GPP.”
