Another day passes by with another broker announcing that it is committing to deliver the Webtrader solution from MetaQuotes. The Metatrader 4 Webtrader is quickly becoming a benchmark in the offering of brokers that are already providing the desktop and mobile versions of the platform.
MetaQuotes has taken its time in delivering a solution that caters to the growing needs of foreign exchange traders, but the result has been a solid solution that quickly gathered speed. With a variety of technology providers offering alternatives in the run-up to the delivery by the creators of MetaTrader some shortcomings have been apparent.
With the announcement, OctaFX joins companies like Admiral Markets, DMMFX Australia, ICMarkets, One Financial Markets and others. Companies that offer primarily a MetaTrader 4 based solution have rapidly realized that the additional benefits that their clients are enjoying outweigh the costs of offering the native solution from MetaQuotes.
The solution solves some issues that traders have when attempting to access their accounts from multiple operating systems. That said, most of the fans of MetaTrader 4 will not be fully satisfied – while the platform offers a wide array of features found on the desktop version of MT4, it is still missing support for expert advisors, which is an essential feature in the MetaTrader universe.
By choosing to not initially support expert advisors, MetaQuotes sticks to the concept that the MetaTrader mobile and webtrader solutions are merely complementary to the desktop version of the trading platform.
