BitFury has added another member to its advisory board, Young Sohn, who is currently chief strategy officer for Samsung Electronics.
Sohn has held leading roles at multiple Silicon Valley companies and has 30 years’ experience with semiconductors and manufacturing. BitFury believes his expertise will come in useful as the company looks to expand beyond mining operations. Said Valery Vavilov, CEO of BitFury:
“We are excited to welcome Young Sohn to our strategic advisory board which is comprised of some of the most distinguished technology and venture industry leaders. Young’s extensive experience in semiconductors and consumer electronics will enable us to explore business opportunities in the consumer electronic devices market.”
Likewise, Sohn is impressed by BitFury’s successful execution on its projects thus far and its ambitious plans for the future. BitFury has raised $40 million year to date in two rounds of funding.
Sohn joins Jackson Hu and Jonathan Teo on the company’s board.
