Adyen, a global provider of comprehensive omni-channel payment solutions has announced the appointment of Jean-Marc Thienpont as its newest Managing Director, Point-of-Sale Solutions.
Adyen is a versatile provider for multi-channel payments, helping bridge numerous utilities for a variety of firms across the retail industry. In his new role as Managing Director, Mr. Thienpont is tasked with developing the firm’s omni-channel solution.
Before joining Adyen, Mr. Thienpont served in a variety of senior roles at Ingenico, where he worked on its Management Board and as the Head of Mobile Payment Solutions.
According to Mr. Thienpont in a recent statement on his appointment, “It is currently a complicated and expensive process for merchants to connect to multiple systems provided by legacy players. Traditionally this has meant one connection for point-of-sale in every country and a different one for e-commerce which results in having transactions scattered across multiple platforms. I’m very excited to join Adyen, which offers a truly omni-channel payment solution in a single, global platform. Adyen is years ahead of the competition and can provide merchants with best-in-class tools to accelerate growth across multiple markets simultaneously.”
“Jean-Marc’s rich experience in the physical payments space will help us accelerate our worldwide growth across omni-channel and point-of-sale. There are numerous benefits for merchants to adopt an omni-channel solution, whether it is gaining a 360-degree view of shoppers’ behavior across online and in-store, or providing shoppers a consistent experience across sales channels, for example, with more flexibility on where they can get refunded or have their orders delivered,” added Pieter van der Does, CEO of Adyen, in an accompanying statement.
