The void created by the has reportedly been partially offset by William Knottenbelt being appointed as Senior Managing Director, International.
Last month, CME Group announced a series of sweeping personnel changes at the top end of its management, culminating in a variety of hires and departures. In its newest move, Mr. Knottenbelt will be tasked with managing the group’s business growth, customer relationships and development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Asia and Latin America.
According to CME Group Executive Chairman and President Terry Duffy, “CME Group’s international business continues to grow, now representing nearly 25 percent of our volume, and our footprint has expanded to meet our European, Asian and Latin American clients’ business needs.”
Mr. Knottenbelt first joined CME Group back in 2011, having previously led the firm’s European operations. Prior to joining CME Group, Mr. Knottenbelt served as the Global Head of Futures for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS, whilst working there in several other roles across FX, interest rate derivatives and prime brokerage.
